Meet the Leadership Team

Olivia Gräsberg

Co-creator

After being diagnosed with epilepsy in 2016, Olivia returned to school, where she did not receive many accommodations. Nevertheless, she feels moved to help students learn to advocate for their own disability needs so they don’t feel left behind academically. While Olivia did not choose the college path for herself, she did graduate high school and complete a vocational/trade program, allowing her to fulfill her dreams of becoming a hairdresser. Through co-creating Project College, Olivia hopes to inspire others to follow thier dreams like she did.

Sofie Levy

Creator

After childhood Epilepsy led to brain surgery at 9 years old, Sofie graduated junior college and moved to Texas with hopes of higher education, but ultimately found that a mainstream university was not built for her needs. This led to obtaining a Bachelors’ in General Studies from an online university instead, allowing Sofie to create her own path which is a non-profit, focusing on disability advocacy specifically aimed toward university-age students. Sofie’s hope for the non-profit is that it will allow individuals to enter college with the propper tools to succeed and prepare them to be able to apply these tools to everyday life after college as well.

Meet the Advocates

  • Natalie Tapio

    Epilepsy Brain surgery Advocate

After having her first seizure at 17 years old, Natalie’s Epilepsy journey has taken many turns over the past 10 years. On April 25, 2023, Natalie finally got the answer she was looking for: she was a candidate for brain surgery. Since recovering, Natalie has been able to experience life to the fullest alongside her seizure alert dog, Dexter.

The Project College Timeline

  • After failing to be given a fair chance at success at multiple mainstream colleges, Sofie graduated from an online accredited university and decided that a change had to be made to the world of mainstream education. This is when Project College started to take form.

  • With the help of her friends, Sofie began to imagine how the dream of Project College could become a reality. Sofie and her friends quickly started working on brainstorming, website ideas, and hopes for the future of Project College. This is when Sofie and her friend, Olivia, started to build Project College.

  • While Project College is still in its beginning stages, we hope to see it grow rapidly in the near future.
